Do you still have the first video you ever made? This is mine from 25 years ago - a remake of "The Dark Crystal". How many fan videos have been made for TDC? I don't know. Star Wars/Trek have thousands if not millions. If you have a TDC fan video, let's see it. (BTW - I made a Star Wars Fan Film on Super-8mm when I was eight in 1979 - I don't have it transfered to video yet.) A little history about this video: The DC movie came out Christmas of '82 (I was twelve). The trailer scared me, but my mother thought it would be OK to take me since Jim Henson had made it. Little did she know that I would fall in love with it. I had already started making puppets a year or so earlier. But TDC really got me going. Over the next year, I slowly re-made all of the main characters in my spare time. At Christmas of '83. I decided that I wanted to shoot a film with all the puppets I had made. I worked hard over this Christmas break building more puppets. Then my best friend and myself built sets over the next two months and planned to make an 8mm film. I shot one roll of film and the camera broke. I was heart broken. All this work and now no way to film it. None of my family or friends had a VCR or video camera at the time. So, I convinced my parents to rent a portable VHS video deck and separate camera for 5 days during the spring break of 1984. We had to drive 40 miles to the closest large city to rent one.
